Learning Technology Week
Learning Technology Week is happening in the Library on Monday the 7th to Friday the 11th of October. We’ll be offering drop in sessions highlighting software and facilities available to all students. Come along to the iMac Suite upstairs in the library. All sessions take places between 12pm and 2pm.
Monday the 7th of October
12pm – 1pm Online Resources with David Buri. Come and learn about the online resources available to you for your practice.
1pm – 2pm Learn colour separation in Photoshop with Kim McNeil. This workshop will help you prepare your image, such as a photograph, into a set of colours that can then be exposed onto silkscreens and printed.
Tuesday the 8th of October
12.30pm – 1pm Ross Finnie will be here to talk about the Digital Image Suite in the Reid Building. Come along to learn about producing high quality images and also printing them out.
1pm – 1.30pm The IT Dept. will be here to trouble shoot any issues you are having at GSA.
Wednesday the 9th of October
12pm – 1pm Learning Technology for English as a Second Language Students with Scott McGowan O’Regan. This workshop will provide an overview of software and apps available at GSA that are particularly useful for reading, writing and notetaking when English is not your first language.
1pm – 2pm Online Resources with David Buri. Come and learn about the online resources available to you for your practice.
Thursday the 10th of October
12.30pm – 1pm The IT Dept. will be here to trouble shoot any issues you are having.
1pm – 2pm Stephanie McPherson from Learning Support will be running a workshop on Read & Write, Inspiration and other tips for reading and wring on Macs & PCs.
Friday the 11th of October
12pm – 12.30pm The Centre for Advanced Textiles will be showcasing what they do.
12.30pm – 1pm Join Rick Anthony as he shows you the ins and outs of Planet eStream, GSA’s Netflix and the Library’s new Screening Room.
1pm – 1.30pm Anti-Technology with James Robertson. Take a break from gadgets and get some headspace. James will be introducing the Library Silent Sensory Room.
All sessions take place in the Library between 12pm and 2pm in the iMac Suite.
