Setting up GSA email access on your iOS or Android device
This User Guide will help GSA students and staff to configure an iOS or Android device to allow access to GSA email via the Mail (iOS) or Email (Android) app, rather than by using webmail.
You can still access your email via the web, from any device, by visiting mail.office365.com.

GSA email access on your iOS device
STEP1
Access your device Settings, and touch Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
STEP 2
Touch Add Account.
STEP 3
Choose to add an Exchange account.
STEP 4
In the Email field, enter your full GSA email address, in the format:
a.surname1@student.gsa.ac.uk (students)
a.surname@gsa.ac.uk (staff)
In the Password field, enter your normal GSA password.
The Description will appear as the name of the account, so change it to something appropriate such as ‘GSA Email’.
Touch Next.
STEP 5
In the Server field enter: outlook.office365.com
Leave the Domain field blank.
In the Username field, again enter your full GSA email address in the format:
a.surname1@student.gsa.ac.uk (students)
a.surname@gsa.ac.uk (staff)
Your password should remain as your normal GSA password.
Touch Next.
STEP 6
Your account will now have been added to the Mail app. You can select which items you wish to sync (these settings can also be updated later).
STEP 7
Your account will now be visible in your Mail, Contacts, Calendars accounts.
Your mailbox is now set up and ready to use.

GSA email access on your Android device
(Due to variations across different versions of Android and across different devices, you may encounter slight differences from the process described here.)
STEP 1
Open your Email app.
STEP 2
Access the app Settings.
Touch Add Account.
(If you do not already use the Email app, the Add Account process may begin automatically without the need to access the Settings.)
STEP 3
Choose to add an Exchange account.
In some cases this option may appear as ‘Exchange ActiveSync’.
STEP 4
In the Email address field, enter your full GSA email address, in the format:
a.surname1@student.gsa.ac.uk (students)
a.surname@gsa.ac.uk (staff)
The Domain field should be left blank.
In the Username field, again enter your full GSA email address.
In the Password field, enter your normal GSA password.
Touch Manual setup.
STEP 5
The login details that you entered during the previous step should be visible – leave these as they are.
In the Server field enter: outlook.office365.com
All other settings can be left unchanged.
Touch Next.
STEP 6
You may see a security administration message.
Touch OK.
STEP 7
You will be prompted to select your account settings – such as how frequently your device checks for new emails.
(These settings can also be updated later.)
Touch Next.
STEP 8
You will be prompted to give the account a name. Enter something such as ‘GSA Email’ to differentiate your GSA account from your other personal email accounts.
Touch Next.
STEP 9
Your account is now set up. Before you can access your email, you may have to Activate the device administrator.
You should be prompted to do this automatically. It may take a few minutes for this automatic prompt to be generated.
Once it appears, touch Activate.
Your email should now sync. This may take a few minutes.
Your mailbox is now set up and ready to use.
